K ahore ranei ia i mea mai ki ahau, Ko toku tuahine ia? me te wahine hoki, i mea mai ano ia, Ko toku tungane ia: he tapatahi toku ngakau, he harakore hoki oku ringa i mea ai ahau i tenei mea.

Did he not himself say to me, ‘She is my sister’? And she herself said, ‘He is my brother.’ In the integrity of my heart and the innocence of my hands I have done this.”
