J onathan aber hatte nicht gehört, daß sein Vater das Volk beschworen hatte, und reckte seinen Stab aus, den er in seiner Hand hatte, und tauchte mit der Spitze in den Honigseim und wandte seine Hand zu seinem Munde; da wurden sein Augen wacker.

But Jonathan didn’t hear when his father commanded the people with the oath. Therefore he put out the end of the rod who was in his hand, and dipped it in the honeycomb, and put his hand to his mouth; and his eyes brightened.
