d arum daß sie euch nicht entgegenkamen mit Brot und Wasser auf dem Wege, da ihr aus Ägypten zoget, vielmehr wider euch dingten den Bileam, den Sohn Beors von Pethor aus Mesopotamien, daß er dich verfluchen sollte.

because they did not meet you with bread and water on the road when you came out of Egypt, and because they hired against you Balaam the son of Beor from Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse you.
