d aß ihr zur selben Zeit waret ohne Christum, fremd und außer der Bürgerschaft Israels und fremd den Testamenten der Verheißung; daher ihr keine Hoffnung hattet und waret ohne Gott in der Welt.

that ye were at that time separate from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of the promise, having no hope and without God in the world.
