D enn des Leibes Leben ist im Blut, und ich habe es euch auf den Altar gegeben, daß eure Seelen damit versöhnt werden. Denn das Blut ist die Versöhnung, weil das Leben in ihm ist.

for the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you on the altar, to make atonement for your souls; for it the blood which maketh atonement for the soul.
