D a maß er noch tausend Ellen, und es ward so tief, daß ich nicht mehr Grund hatte; denn das Wasser war zu hoch, daß man darüber schwimmen mußte und keinen Grund hatte.

Again he measured a thousand; and it was a river that I could not ford, for the water had risen, enough water to swim in, a river that could not be forded.
