W er hat solches je gehört? wer hat solches je gesehen? Kann auch, ehe denn ein Land die Wehen kriegt, ein Volk auf einmal geboren werden? Nun hat doch ja Zion ihre Kinder ohne Wehen geboren.

Who has heard of such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall a land be born in one day? Shall a nation be born at once? For as soon as Zion travailed, she gave birth to her children.
