S ie brüten Basiliskeneier und wirken Spinnwebe. Ißt man von ihren Eiern, so muß man sterben; zertritt man's aber, so fährt eine Otter heraus.

They hatch adders’ eggs and weave the spider’s web; He who eats of their eggs dies, And from that which is crushed a snake breaks forth.
