N un, HERR, Gott Israels, halte deinem Knechte David, meinem Vater, was du ihm verheißen hast und gesagt: Es soll dir nicht gebrechen an einem Manne vor mir, der auf dem Stuhl Israels sitze, doch sofern deine Kinder ihren Weg bewahren, daß sie wandeln in meinem Gesetz, wie du vor mir gewandelt hast.

Now, therefore, O LORD God of Israel, keep with thy slave David, my father, that which thou hast promised him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit upon the throne of Israel, under the condition that thy sons keep their way, walking in my law, as thou hast walked before me.
