E t tout le peuple dit à Samuel: Prie l'Éternel, ton Dieu, pour tes serviteurs, afin que nous ne mourions pas; car nous avons ajouté à tous nos péchés le tort de demander pour nous un roi.

And all said to Samuel, Pray for your servants to the Lord your God, that we may not die, for we have added to all our sins this evil—to ask for a king.
