Q uand ils furent arrivés aux districts du Jourdain qui appartiennent au pays de Canaan, les fils de Ruben, les fils de Gad et la demi-tribu de Manassé, y bâtirent un autel sur le Jourdain, un autel dont la grandeur frappait les regards.

¶ And when they came unto the borders of the Jordan, which is in the land of Canaan, the sons of Reuben and the sons of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh built an altar there next to the Jordan, a great altar to look upon.
