L à-dessus, le bruit courut parmi les frères que ce disciple ne mourrait point. Cependant Jésus n'avait pas dit à Pierre qu'il ne mourrait point; mais: Si je veux qu'il demeure jusqu'à ce que je vienne, que t'importe?

Then this saying went out among the brethren that this disciple would not die. Yet Jesus did not say to him that he would not die, but, “If I will that he remain till I come, what is that to you?”
