G uedalia, fils d'Achikam, fils de Schaphan, leur jura, à eux et à leurs hommes, en disant: Ne craignez pas de servir les Chaldéens; demeurez dans le pays, servez le roi de Babylone, et vous vous en trouverez bien.

Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan swore to them and to their men, saying, Don’t be afraid to serve the Chaldeans: dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon, and it shall be well with you.
