J usques à quand le pays sera-t-il dans le deuil, Et l'herbe de tous les champs sera-t-elle desséchée? A cause de la méchanceté des habitants, Les bêtes et les oiseaux périssent. Car ils disent: Il ne verra pas notre fin. -

Till when doth the earth mourn, And the herb of the whole field wither? For the wickedness of those dwelling in it, Consumed have been beast and fowl, Because they said, `He doth not see our latter end.'
