T u es cependant notre père, Car Abraham ne nous connaît pas, Et Israël ignore qui nous sommes; C'est toi, Éternel, qui es notre père, Qui, dès l'éternité, t'appelles notre sauveur.

Doubtless thou art our father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: thou, O Lord, art our father, our redeemer; thy name is from everlasting.
