T out le peuple entendait les tonnerres et le son de la trompette; il voyait les flammes de la montagne fumante. A ce spectacle, le peuple tremblait, et se tenait dans l'éloignement.

All the people heard and saw the thunder and lightning, the sound of the horn, and the mountain smoking. And when the people saw it, they shook with fear and stood far away.
