D avid sortit au-devant d'eux, et leur adressa la parole, en disant: Si vous venez à moi dans de bonnes intentions pour me secourir, mon coeur s'unira à vous; mais si c'est pour me tromper au profit de mes ennemis, quand je ne commets aucune violence, que le Dieu de nos pères le voie et qu'il fasse justice!

David went out to meet them, and answered them, “If you have come peaceably to me to help me, my heart will be united with you; but if you have come to betray me to my adversaries, since there is no wrong in my hands, may the God of our fathers see this and rebuke it.”
