I l giorno dopo si alzarono presto, ed ecco Dagon era di nuovo caduto con la faccia a terra davanti all'arca dell'Eterno, mentre la testa di Dagon e ambedue le palme delle sue mani giacevano troncate sulla soglia; di Dagon rimaneva solo il tronco.

And when they arose early the next morning, behold, Dagon had fallen on his face to the ground before the ark of Jehovah; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off upon the threshold; only the fish-stump was left to him.
