S uo marito Elkanah le rispose: «Fa' come meglio ti sembra; rimani finché tu l'abbia divezzato, purché l'Eterno adempia la sua parola!». Così la donna rimase a casa e allattò suo figlio finché non l'ebbe divezzato.

Elkanah her husband said to her, “Do what seems good to you. Wait until you have weaned him; only may Yahweh establish his word.” So the woman waited and nursed her son, until she weaned him.
