G aal, figlio di Ebed, disse: «Chi è Abimelek e che cosa è Sichem, perché lo dobbiamo servire? Non è forse figlio di Jerubbaal, e non è Zebul il suo luogotenente? Servite piuttosto agli uomini di Hamor, padre di Sichem! Ma perché mai dovremmo noi servire costui?

Gaal son of Ebed said, Who is Abimelech, and who are we of Shechem, that we should serve him? Were not the son of Jerubbaal and Zebul, his officer, servants of the men of Hamor the father and founder of Shechem? Then why should we serve him?
