Q ueste nazioni furono lasciate per mettere alla prova Israele, per vedere se essi avrebbero ubbidito ai comandamenti che l'Eterno aveva prescritto ai loro padri per mezzo di Mosè.

and they are to prove Israel by them, to know whether they obey the commands of Jehovah that He commanded their fathers by the hand of Moses.
