S ono forse stato io a concepire tutto questo popolo? O sono forse stato io a darlo alla luce, perché tu mi dica: "Portalo nel tuo grembo, come la balia porta il bambino lattante, fino al paese che tu hai promesso con giuramento ai suoi padri"?

Was it I who conceived all this people? Was it I who brought them forth, that You should say to me, ‘Carry them in your bosom as a nurse carries a nursing infant, to the land which You swore to their fathers’?
