Giona 4:2 ~ Jonah 4:2

C osí egli pregò l'Eterno, dicendo: «Deh, o Eterno, non era forse questo che dicevo quand'ero ancora nel mio paese? Per questo sono fuggito in precedenza a Tarshish, perché sapevo che sei un Dio misericordioso e pieno di compassione lento all'ira e di gran benignità, e che ti penti del male minacciato.

He prayed to the Lord and said, “O Lord, is this not what I said You would do while still in my own country? That is why I ran away to Tarshish. For I knew that You are a kind and loving God Who shows pity. I knew that You are slow to anger and are filled with loving-kindness, always ready to change Your mind and not punish.
