C ome potrei abbandonarti, o Efraim, o lasciarti in balia di altri, o Israele? Come potrei renderti come Admah, o ridurti come Tseboim? Il mio cuore si commuove dentro di me, le mie compassioni si infiammano tutte.

How shall I give thee up, Ephraim? how shall I cast thee off, Israel? how shall I make thee as Admah? how shall I set thee as Zeboiim? my heart is turned within me, my compassions are kindled together.
