L a prima era simile a un leone ed aveva ali di aquila. Io guardavo, finché le furono strappate le ali; poi fu sollevata da terra, fu fatta stare ritta sui due piedi come un uomo e le fu dato un cuore d'uomo.

The first was like a lion and had eagle’s wings. I looked till the wings of it were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth and made to stand upon two feet as a man, and a man’s heart was given to it.
