T utti i prefetti del regno, i governatori e i satrapi, i consiglieri e i comandanti si sono consultati insieme per promulgare un editto reale e fare un fermo decreto, in base ai quali chiunque durante trenta giorni rivolgerà una richiesta a qualsiasi dio o uomo all'infuori di te, o re, sia gettato nella fossa dei leoni.

All the presidents of the kingdom, the deputies and the satraps, the counsellors and the governors, have consulted together to establish a royal statute, and to make a strong interdict, that whosoever shall ask a petition of any god or man for thirty days, save of thee, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions.
