P erciò, cosí dice il Signore, l'Eterno: Come il legno della vite fra gli alberi della foresta l'ho destinato ad essere bruciato nel fuoco, cosí farò con gli abitanti di Gerusalemme.

Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: As the vine-tree among trees of the forest, That I have given to the fire for fuel, So I have given the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
