P oiché il nemico mi perseguita, egli ha prostrato fino a terra la mia vita; mi fa abitare in luoghi tenebrosi, come quelli che sono morti già da lungo tempo.

For the enemy hath persecuted my soul; he hath smitten my life down to the ground; he hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead.
