q uesto Esdra veniva da Babilonia. Egli era uno scriba, esperto nella legge di Mosè data dall'Eterno, il DIO d'Israele. Il re gli concesse tutto ciò che egli domandò, perché la mano dell'Eterno, il suo DIO, era su di lui.

This Ezra went up from Babylon, and he was a diligent scribe in the law of Moses, which the LORD God of Israel had given; and the king granted him all his request, according to the hand of the LORD his God upon him.
