C on l'inizio del nuovo anno, nel tempo in cui i re vanno a combattere, Joab condusse fuori un poderoso esercito e devastò il paese dei figli di Ammon; quindi andò ad assediare Rabbah, mentre Davide rimase a Gerusalemme; Joab battè Rabbah e la distrusse.

After the end of the year, when kings go out to battle, Joab led forth the army and devastated the land of the Ammonites, and came and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried at Jerusalem. Joab smote Rabbah and overthrew it.
