Q uando Joab si rese conto che aveva contro di sé due fronti di battaglia, uno davanti e l'altro dietro, scelse alcuni fra gli uomini migliori d'Israele, e li dispose in ordine di battaglia contro i Siri;

Now when Joab saw that the battle was set against him before and behind, he chose out of all the choice of Israel, and put them in array against the Syrians.
