C osì essi si misero dei sacchi intorno ai fianchi e delle corde al collo, andarono dal re d'Israele e dissero: «Il tuo servo Ben-Hadad dice: "Ti prego, lasciami in vita"». Achab rispose: «E' ancora vivo? Egli è mio fratello».

So they put sackcloth on their bodies and ropes on their heads, and came to the king of Israel, and said, “Your servant Ben Hadad says, ‘Please let me live.’” He said, “Is he still alive? He is my brother.”
