P oi tutto il popolo venne per invitare Davide a prendere cibo, mentre era ancora giorno; ma Davide giurò dicendo: «Cosí mi faccia DIO e anche peggio se assaggerò pane o alcun'altra cosa prima che tramonti il sole».

And when all the people came to cause David to eat meat while it was yet day, David sware, saying, So do God to me, and more also, if I taste bread, or ought else, till the sun be down.
