I Gabaoniti gli risposero: «A noi non interessa avere oro o argento da Saul e dalla sua casa, né voi dovete uccidere per noi alcun uomo in Israele». Il re disse: «Quello che voi chiedete io lo farò per voi».

And the Gibeonites said unto him, We will have no silver nor gold of Saul, nor of his house; neither for us shalt thou kill any man in Israel. And he said, What ye shall say, that will I do for you.
