D avide andò a prendere le ossa di Saul e quelle di Gionathan suo figlio dagli abitanti di Jabesh di Galaad, che le avevano portate via dalla piazza di Beth-Shan, dove i Filistei li avevano appesi quando i Filistei avevano sconfitto Saul sul Ghilboa.

Then he went and took the bones of Saul and his son Jonathan from the men of Jabesh-gilead. They had stolen them from the open space in the center of Bethshan. That was where the Philistines had hanged them on the day they killed Saul in Gilboa.
