M a gli uomini d'Israele risposero agli uomini di Giuda, dicendo: «A noi spettano dieci parti del re, per cui Davide e piú nostro che vostro, perché dunque ci avete disprezzati? Non siamo stati noi i primi a proporre di far tornare il nostro re?». Ma il parlare degli uomini di Giuda fu piú duro di quello degli uomini d'Israele.

Then the men of Israel answered the men of Judah, and said, We have ten parts in the king, and we have also more right in David than ye; why then did ye not take us into account? Did we not speak first about bringing back our king? But in the end words of the men of Judah were fiercer than the words of the men of Israel.
