وَإنْ قُلْنا إنَّها مِنَ النّاسِ، فَإنَّ الشَّعبَ سَيَثورُ عَلَينا.» وَكانَ القادَةُ يَخافُونَ مِنَ الشَّعبِ، لِأنَّ الجَمِيعَ كانوا يَعْتَبِرونَ يُوحَنّا نَبِيّاً بِالفِعِلِ.
