E n tierra están sentados, en silencio, los ancianos de la hija de Sion. Han echado polvo sobre sus cabezas, se han ceñido de cilicio. Han inclinado a tierra sus cabezas las vírgenes de Jerusalén.

The elders of the Daughter of Zion sit on the ground keeping silent; they have cast dust on their heads, they have girded themselves with sackcloth. The maidens of Jerusalem have bowed their heads to the ground.
