A nd the men of Israel were distressed that day: for Saul had adjured the people, saying, Cursed be the man that eateth any food until evening, that I may be avenged on mine enemies. So none of the people tasted any food.

Ese día los israelitas se vieron en aprietos, pues tenían mucha hambre porque Saúl había hecho jurar al pueblo que no comerían en todo el día, hasta que se hubieran vengado de sus enemigos. Cualquiera que desobedeciera quedaría bajo maldición.
