A nd the king of the children of Ammon answered unto the messengers of Jephthah, Because Israel took away my land, when they came up out of Egypt, from Arnon even unto Jabbok, and unto Jordan: now therefore restore those lands again peaceably.

Le roi des fils d'Ammon répondit aux messagers de Jephthé: C'est qu'Israël, quand il est monté d'Égypte, s'est emparé de mon pays, depuis l'Arnon jusqu'au Jabbok et au Jourdain. Rends-le maintenant de bon gré.
