B eloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

Preaiubiţilor, în timp ce doream cu toată nerăbdarea să vă scriu despre mântuirea pe care o împărtăşim împreună, m-am simţit nevoit să vă scriu şi să vă îndemn să luptaţi pentru credinţa care le-a fost dată sfinţilor o dată pentru totdeauna.
