F orasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;

لَقَدْ دُفِعَ ثَمَنُ تَحريرَكُمْ مِنْ أُسلُوبِ حَياتِكُمُ العَقِيمِ الَّذِي وَرِثتُموهُ عَنْ آبائِكُمْ، لا بِمالٍ مَسبوكٍ مِنْ مَوادَّ فانيَةٍ كَالفِضَّةِ أوْ الذَّهَبِ،
