J air the son of Manasseh took all the country of Argob unto the coasts of Geshuri and Maachathi; and called them after his own name, Bashanhavothjair, unto this day.

Jaïr, fils de Manassé, prit toute la contrée d'Argob jusqu'à la frontière des Gueschuriens et des Maacathiens, et il donna son nom aux bourgs de Basan, appelés encore aujourd'hui bourgs de Jaïr.
