A nd Israel abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab.

وَكانَ بَنو إسْرائِيلَ يُقيمونَ فِي شِطِّيمَ. فِي ذَلِكَ الوَقتِ، بَدَأ رِجالُ إسْرائِيلَ يَزنُونَ مَعَ نِساءٍ مُوآبِيّاتٍ.
