S peak unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the excellency of your strength, the desire of your eyes, and that which your soul pitieth; and your sons and your daughters whom ye have left shall fall by the sword.

“Di’ alla casa d’Israele: Così parla il Signore, Dio: ‘Ecco, io profanerò il mio santuario, orgoglio della vostra forza, delizia dei vostri occhi, oggetto di venerazione delle vostre anime; i vostri figli e le vostre figlie che avete lasciati a Gerusalemme cadranno per la spada’”.
