A nd they rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified against them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning whom the Lord had charged them, that they should not do like them.

N'au vrut să ştie de legile Lui, de legămîntul pe care -l făcuse cu părinţii lor, şi de înştiinţările pe cari li le dăduse. S'au luat după lucruri de nimic, şi ei înşişi n'au fost decît nimic, şi după neamurile în mijlocul cărora trăiau, măcar că Domnul le poruncise să nu se ia după ele.
