I n his days did Hiel the Bethelite build Jericho: he laid the foundation thereof in Abiram his firstborn, and set up the gates thereof in his youngest son Segub, according to the word of the Lord, which he spake by Joshua the son of Nun.

Nei suoi giorni, Hiel di Bethel ricostruí Gerico; ne gettò le fondamenta su Abiram, suo primogenito, e ne rizzò le porte su Segub, il piú giovane dei suoi figli, secondo la parola che l'Eterno aveva pronunciato per mezzo di Giosuè, figlio di Nun.
