A nd David spake unto the Lord when he saw the angel that smote the people, and said, Lo, I have sinned, and I have done wickedly: but these sheep, what have they done? let thine hand, I pray thee, be against me, and against my father's house.

Y cuando David vio que el ángel destruía al pueblo, le dijo al Señor: «Yo soy quien ha pecado; yo soy quien hizo mal. ¡Pero estas ovejas no han hecho nada malo! Te ruego que nos castigues a mí y a mi familia.»
