A nd the man said unto Joab, Though I should receive a thousand shekels of silver in mine hand, yet would I not put forth mine hand against the king's son: for in our hearing the king charged thee and Abishai and Ittai, saying, Beware that none touch the young man Absalom.

Ma quell'uomo disse a Joab: «Anche se mi fossero messi in mano mille sicli d'argento, io non stenderei la mano contro il figlio del re, poiché noi abbiamo udito l'ordine che il re ha dato a te, ad Abishai e a Ittai, dicendo: "State attenti dal fare alcun male al giovane Absalom".
