T hen David said unto the messenger, Thus shalt thou say unto Joab, Let not this thing displease thee, for the sword devoureth one as well as another: make thy battle more strong against the city, and overthrow it: and encourage thou him.

王 向 使 者 说 ： 你 告 诉 约 押 说 ： 不 要 因 这 事 愁 闷 ， 刀 剑 或 吞 灭 这 人 或 吞 灭 那 人 ， 没 有 一 定 的 ； 你 只 管 竭 力 攻 城 ， 将 城 倾 覆 。 可 以 用 这 话 勉 励 约 押 。
